Breif Self Descriptioneric <at> direnetworks <dot> com
I've been working professionally in the IT field for the past 8 years mostly doing application development in PHP as well as some systems administration to support the web based applications. I try to keep myself up to date with current technologies and am currently working with PHP as the programming language with AJAX and XML/XHTML front ends. Currently I run my own consulting firm which primarily focuses on software development with some standard LAMP systems administration. I have accumulated a well trained and very technical group of associates who I can utilize when encumbered by an over loaded work schedule from all of my clients. At my previous position, I managed five other technical staff ensuring they work well together and complete their projects on time while maintaining a fun and friendly environment to work in.

Designed and wrote an assortment of custom software for clients. Primary language that the software was written in was PHP v5 with XHTML/AJAX front ends. Worked with performance utilities such as Zend Optimizer and Memcached to optimize the server load.
Projects: Creating a uniform tracking system written in PHP/AJAX which uses a web based RFID technology for many of the Las Vegas casinos. Writing a PHP website builder to allow clients to chose from a design template, create their own menus and create their own content for their site. Designing a medical record and inmate tracking solution for the California State Prison System. Made a store incentives PHP application for large nationwide franchises to have their teams compete against each other.

Oversaw production for an Application Service Provider developing mostly web applications. The environment was mostly PHP v4 and v5 but we also used some Java, ASP and Coldfusion. Databases included MySQL, PostgreSQL and Oracle while a few systems were migrated from MSSQL and Access databases. Managed over 3 other programmers, 2 graphic artists and worked closely with the project manager to ensure all projects were on time and assigned to the correct people.
Projects: Worked on many different projects such as a large CMS application written in PHP v4 and works with both MySQL and PostgreSQL. A project management system which allowed people associated with a project to share files, a calendar, bulletin board and contacts through an online PHP application. An emergency SMS alert PHP v5 system deployed in universities. An online PHP parimutuel poker casino game which passed a review from the Nevada gaming commission on the first try and medical billing software written in PHP v5/XML that fed to an AJAX/XHTML front end.

Systems Programmer
Systems programmer for an online travel agency. Wrote system level software in both PHP v4 and C to facilitate the website. Software included creating an API for our site to communicate with the Worldspan GDS system. This involved taking PHP input from the website, transferring it to my C based API in XML format, parsing the XML response from Worldspan and converting it back into PHP to return to the front end. Other code included PHP cron scripts to communicate with the Verisign payment gateway, mailing scripts to send out confirmation emails and routine cleanup scripts.
